Looking for an Omegle alternative?

Omegle shut down for good in November 2023, after 14 years of random video chat.

If you're here because Omegle doesn't exist anymore and you're looking for something that still does what it used to — pair you with a random stranger for a live conversation, no accounts, no friend requests — that's exactly what Strangr is built for.

What made Omegle work, and what didn't

Omegle's whole appeal was speed: open the site, get a stranger, talk. What it never really solved was safety — moderation was thin, video was mandatory even when you didn't want it on, and there was no real way to make sure you never ran into the same bad actor twice.

How Strangr is different

• Voice or text, your choice — no webcam requirement at all. Talk by voice, or keep it text-only.
• Report actually blocks, permanently — reporting someone ends the call instantly and guarantees you're never matched with them again, not just for that session.
• Match by interest or country — tag a few topics you're into, or match within a specific country, instead of pure random roulette.
• No account needed to start — same as Omegle's original appeal, you can talk to a stranger within seconds of opening the site.
• Nothing is recorded — calls connect directly between browsers (WebRTC); the server never sees or stores your audio.

Getting started

Open Strangr, agree to the (short) ground rules, pick voice or text, and you're matched. No download, no plugin — it runs entirely in your browser, on desktop or mobile.
